Welcome 2013!! Wow this year has really been moving along. I hope that your family had a wonderful Christmas break together. Here are some things that you should be aware of and are coming up...

*Mark these days on your calendar because there will be no school:
          January 21, 2013 (County-wide Inservice Day)
          February 18, 2013 (Mid-winter Break Day)

**Science Night at Madison Elementary - January 17th (6:00-7:30pm)

During the month of January we will be assessing students for our mid-year benchmarking.

Hats Off to Veterans Day!

Friday, November 2nd will be our "Hats Off to Veterans Day. On this special day elementary students can bring in $1.00 donation and get to wear a hat all day at school! Our donations will be going to WLEN's "Thank A Vet" fundraiser Novemer 9th. WLEN is collecting money for their Dire Needs for Veterans fund that is used for helping local veterans with emergency living expenses. Let's make a difference in our community!

Madison Parent Survey

Math Family Fun Night

Madison Elementary would like to welcome all students and families to Math Family Fun Night.   The evening will be filled with engaging math experiences in the elementary gym, commons, and the computer lab located in the 3^rd and 4^th grade hallway.  Students will have an opportunity to explore a variety of age-appropriate math games and activities.  It is sure to be a memorable learning experience for all!  We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 8, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  Please enter through the aluminum doors next to the elementary gymnasium.  Please contact the Madison Elementary office if you have questions (263-0744).

Specials Schedule

Our Specials schedule is on a rotation this year. It is a six day rotation with Technology being a new special for students this year! This is our rotation:

Day 1 - Music
Day 2 - Art
Day 3 - Physical Education
Day 4 - Music
Day 5 - Technology
Day 6 - Physical Education

So if for some reason school would be cancelled we would continue with our schedule the very next school day. To help keep confusion low, we have been writing in our planners what the special is the next day so that we are all prepared.
